Mums Eulogy

Here today to celebrate the Life of Marjorie. Most of us here only first got to know Marjorie in her later years when she moved to Suffolk at the age of 70.
But Marjorie’s life began in the Lake District on 8th April 1930. Born in Keswick Cumbria.
We have a few members of her family here today from the Lake District Dot & Shirley welcome.
Marjorie was one of three children. Her Sister Jean recently passed away in Oct last year aged 92 and her brother Teddy some previous years earlier.
Marjorie lived a simple life living among the beautiful rolling hills and landscapes of the Lake District. She was a country girl at heart enjoying one of her favourite pastimes in her youth walking. Most Sundays she spent her time walking around Lake Derwentwater known as lady of the lake.
Her other main hobby was singing, dancing, and acting. She took on many a leading Role on the stage of the Blue Box Theatre in Keswick. A talent and passion that she passed onto her daughter and grandchildren.
Marjorie was known as one of the best dressed ladies in Keswick she loved clothes and was always the height of fashion, immaculately dressed wearing her high heels. She never went anywhere without her lipstick and hairspray.
But her life truly began when she was blessed with her only daughter Kim in her early 40’s.
Marjorie brought her daughter up on her own and devoted her life to making sure her daughter was given opportunities in life she never had. They both shared a very happy special relationship together.
Kim Left home to follower her career, graduated from University and moved here to Suffolk for her first job in 1996. Marjorie became a regular visitor to Suffolk.
Kim Joined The Hadleigh Amateur Dramatics Society known as (Had’s) carrying the family tradition for the love of the stage.
It was at this time that Marjorie met a lot of her friends that remained so and are here today. Marjorie became Had’s number one fan. Watching every performance per show good or bad without fail she was a true professional and deserved a medal at times.
Marjorie followed her daughter and came to live permanently in Suffolk in 2000. Spending her first year in Lavenham which remained her favorite village of Suffolk. She found a home in Hadleigh the following year and remained there for 20years devoting her time to help bring up her three beautiful grandchildren Katie-May now aged 20, Gracie now aged 15 and little Poppy aged 7. They were her world she left so blessed to have three talented grandchildren to share her later years with.
Marjorie was a very private, caring and gentle lady. Fearfully independent and enjoyed living on her own when she wasn’t caring for one of her grandchildren. As always dressed to perfection.
She passed away peacefully on 12th Dec 2021.
One of Kim’s fondest memories of her mum was her singing to her, her favourite song by Doris Day
“Que Sera, Sera whatever will be, will be the future’s not ours to see Que Sera, sera”
